Our Favourites: The Soft Jacket

Soft jackets are a bit of a departure from classic tailoring and are an exercise in structural minimalism. Take a sport coat and empty it as much as possible – removing any and all padding and lining – leaving just the bare essentials of the jacket intact. What you’re left with is an incredibly light garment which is as effortless to wear as it is to travel with, making it a natural choice for flying in style as well as for outings of a more casual nature!

The Soft Jacket is in one respect more difficult to produce than it’s classic counterparts as all the insides of the jacket are freely exposed and thus must be finished with great attention to aesthetic detail. This makes them not only a refreshing and convenient piece of tailored clothing, but additionally one which reveals its sophistication more cleverly.
